Meet the animals.
These animals are local heroes.
They look at noxious weeds like chocolate! Their stomachs are able to make seeds not viable for germination. Their excrement is rich in nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus. Goats and sheep can be run together or separate depending on the project’s goals. Sheep prefer to eat more forbs on the ground level, while goats are browsers and are able to clear up to 8 feet high. They can consume up to 4 lbs of biomass per animal per day, turning unwanted vegetation into healthy soil!
We run Kiko goats, a breed known for their hardiness. These goats can climb and walk on their hind legs to reduce ladder fire fuels, and their anatomy makes any weed seeds they consume not viable
The Goats
Sheep prefer to eat at head level and below and do not climb. They are a great tool to be used in orchards or areas where there are trees or infrastructure that need to be protected.
The Sheep
We run a Karakachan Livestock Guardian Dog to protect our sheep & goats and use a Border Collie to herd the animals.

We also utilize mules at the home ranch and on some select jobs to help gather the sheep, check fence lines, and pack in supplies in remote areas.
